Air Travel Tips

Air travel to Archer City is simple.  American Airlines provides several flights each day to and from DFW to the municipal airport in Wichita Falls, TX.  Archer City is a short 25 minute drive from Wichita Falls.  The airport (code SPS) has two rental car counters (Hertz, and Budget), and taxis are also available. Of course, the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) airport is 2 hours away and is also an option;  however, the cost for flights from DFW to SPS are quite reasonalbe, and the convenience is worth the cost.


As American Airlines provides service to Wichita Falls, TX, it is easiest (and typically cheapest) to book flights directly with American Airlines at www.AA.com

Truck Rental

 

Penske truck rental is recommended.  The trucks are typically in good condition, plus they tend to offer the best one-way rates (often with unlimited mileage).  The Penske truck rental location in the area is in Wichita Falls, TX, just about 25 minutes away from Archer City.  This is a great option for those wanting to fly out and then drive back with books.  Also, for those driving, tow-trailers may also be rented to pull your car behind the truck.  There are also other truck rental companies in Wichita Falls should they be preferred.
